Hi my name is Angela and I have been working with families and children for the past 26 years. We have four girls and when I’m not doing laundry, I have also worked with children aged from six weeks to eight years, as a Kindergarten teacher, Room Leader, Montessori teacher, nanny, Long Day Care Coordinator, School of the Air Teacher and TAFE teacher.

In addition to working at the Kinder I also work as a consultant, providing information sessions/training for parents, educators and teachers across the sector.  My Qualifications include a Montessori Diploma, a Diploma of Human Services Certificate IV in Workplace Training and a Bachelor of Education.  I look forward to getting to know you and your families this year. Regards, Angela.

Hi my name is Caroline Rogers and I am teaching the Yellow Group in 2014, as well as helping out at the weekly Bush Kinder sessions.  I have recently completed a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching and my previous studies have been in visual arts and horticulture. I love giving children opportunities to make discoveries about their world by providing them with the time and space to explore, experiment, problem solve and imagine. I am very excited to be working at Thornbury Kindergarten and I look forward to getting to know you all.

I’m Danielle and I have joined the Thornbury Kindergarten team in the Red Group. I have recently graduated with a Post Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood teaching from the Master of Teaching program at Melbourne University. My final placement during term 2 was at Thornbury Kinder so if my face is familiar – yes you have seen me around! Over the next 12 months I will be completing the Masters part-time with a research project investigating the academic self-concept of children in the year prior to beginning school. Children’s academic self-concept is how they see their own abilities in relation to others and is linked to their interest in learning and achievement. I’m interested in and keen to support each child and work with their strengths to further their learning journey.

I’ve previously worked for 10 years in the development industry as an urban designer. Watching my own daughter learn and develop and volunteering at a local kindergarten, helped me to discover my desire to support children’s learning journey. My weekends are often spent playing mini-golf or bike riding along the Yarra with my husband and daughter.

I was born in Vietnam.  My parents came from China when they were young.  I have two brothers and one sister.  I am the youngest one.  I have been living in Australia for over twenty years and I have four children and one grandchild.  I have been looking after my granddaughter for three years. I am a very patient and organised person.  I speak fluent Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and English.  In 2007 I studied an English course at NMIT.  In 2008 I studied the childcare course and I got my Childcare Certificate 3. Since 2009 I have been working at the Thornbury Kindergarten.  I love working with children but sometimes it is hard work!  But it is interesting and challenging.
